This is Mrs. Cobb's first year at West Platte. She is so excited and feels so lucky to be teaching the coolest fifth grade Scholars around! Recently, Mrs. Cobb just got back from living a year of big-time adventure with her husband in Chicago, Illinois. While she was there, she learned a lot about the "big city life." She and her husband sold both of their cars, so she learned (very quickly) that walking EVERYWHERE and taking the train (called "the el") is actually fun! She also liked that there were so many places to explore - delicious restaurants, unique shops, and all kinds of parks and beaches to hang out at (Lake Michigan is HUGE!). Although city living was fun, she missed her family and she missed being a teacher.
This will be Mrs. Cobb's first year of teaching fifth grade. Before moving to Chicago, she taught fourth grade in Seymour, Missouri. Seymour is a small town, like Weston, so she was thrilled when she learned she was becoming a West Platte Blue Jay! Because she's taught fourth grade, she knows exactly what fifth graders are supposed to know at the beginning of the year, and will be able to help each Scholar feel comfortable with learning new and exciting fifth grade material! Mrs. Cobb grew up in Kearney, Missouri, which is not very far south of Weston. While she was in high school, she was involved in many performance activities: dance team, choir, show choir, and musicals. In other words, she loved to be onstage, singing and dancing, all the time! She always knew she wanted to be a teacher, so after she graduated high school in 2008, she began her teaching journey at Missouri State University in Springfield. In 2011, she married her high school sweetheart, Mr. Cobb, and in 2012, she graduated from college. When she's not busy in her classroom, she LOVES to bake yummy desserts, watch movies while eating homemade popcorn, walk and play with her dog, Josie, and support Mr. Cobb's obsession with Royals' baseball. |
